MICHAEL YARDY has praised forgotten man Monty Panesar for helping turn him from a pub bowler into a world-beater.

The Sussex skipper doesn't even get a bowl in four day championship cricket thanks to the presence of former England twirler Panesar But Yardy, 29, who took up spin bowling only five years ago, is now a mainstay in England's one-day side after forging a feared partnership with Graeme Swann.
