Section: General News - A former Nasa astronaut will visit Suranaree University of Technology on July 29 as part of the festivities for SUT's 20th anniversary, The Nation reports.

SUT president Prasart Suebka said last week that Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn would preside over the opening ceremony of the keynote speech by Leroy Chiao, a former National Aeronautics and Space Administration astronaut.

Prasart said SUT invited the Chinese-American astronaut because he was half-Asian.

He wants Thai students to realise that each person's ability depends on his educational opportunity.
