Tokyo police are likely to establish a case against popular sumo wrestler Kotomitsuki for his alleged involvement in illegal gambling on professional baseball games, sources said Wednesday.
Kotomitsuki, who holds the second highest rank of ozeki, has told police he gambled large sums of money on baseball several times in 2009. This admission has prompted police to conclude Kotomitsuki should face criminal punishment, the sources said.
