Set on staying connected Past experiences come in handy for shakeout survivors SA's information technology (IT) companies have managed to weather the financial storm, thanks to geographical diversification, operational discipline and stronger services businesses. Major JSE-listed information technology shares have bounced back over the past year, following a punishing 2008 and early 2009 that resulted in many of them shedding half or more of their value. Dimension Data (Didata), Datatec and Business Connexion the three largest IT groups listed on the JSE have all seen their share prices recover strongly over the past six months. Analysts say that well-run, larger IT groups are in a good position to take advantage of an expected upswing in technology spending in the months ahead.
