Section: Business News - Pacific Healthcare Group, the 50-year-old consumer health-care and pharmaceutical distributing firm, plans to open more subsidiaries and distribution networks in Asean in preparation for the future implementation of trade harmonisation on medicine in the region, the Bangkok Post reports.

Cyrille F. Buhrman, the company's chairman, said the move will cash in on the global trend of market consolidation after trade harmonisation took place in Europe's pharmaceutical industry.

If harmonisation is implemented in Asean, pharmaceutical products can be registered in one country and referenced to sell in other countries in this region.
