A COUPLE have spent thousands of pounds on solar panels to power their home and are encouraging others to follow their example.

Jeremy and Bregje Fisk, of Etwall, installed the panels six weeks ago and have already generated a quarter of their family's annual energy use.

And they estimate the GBP10,000 panels, installed on their south facing roof, will pay for themselves within 12 years.
