Cabinet approves Icasa Amendment Bill LINDA ENSOR Political Correspondent CAPE TOWN The Cabinet this week approved the Independent Communications Authority of SA (Icasa) Amendment Bill, which will be released for public consultation and possible redrafting before being submitted to Parliament.

The aim of the amendments, Cabinet spokesman Themba Maseko said, was to strengthen the capacity of the regulator. Communications department spokesman Tiyani Rikhotso said the amendments were also intended to address impediments to the efficient running of the organisation.
