Schools may no longer use online student surveys supposedly showing women lack interest in new sports to comply with Title IX, according to a decision by the Department of Education. Top officials including Vice President Joe Biden and Education Secretary Arne Duncan have announced the change in policy.

"Making Title IX as strong as possible is a no-brainer," Biden wrote. Changing the policy will "better ensure equal opportunity in athletics," he noted.
