Former New Jersey Gov. James J. Florio has been honored by Camden County College for epitomizing the highest ideals of its Center for Civic Leadership and Responsibility. Florio--who is known for his attention to the environment, education and gun control--was honored with the Civic Leadership Award. The U. S. Navy veteran earned an undergraduate degree from what is now The College of New Jersey, and a law degree from Rutgers University.
