from BERNAMA, The Malaysian National News Agency KUALA LUMPUR, June 1 (Bernama) -- Radio Television Malaysia (RTM) will give emphasis on the Malay Language in its programmes as it is convinced that the language can forge closer relations between the various communities in the country, said the director-general of broadcasting, Datuk Ibrahim Yahaya.

"The RTM must play this role although we don't enjoy the same position as the other (private) television stations. We will continue to give priority to the Malay Language to strengthen it," he said in his speech at the prize- giving ceremony for the 2010 Radio Drama Script Writing Competition for students in tertiary …
