Vatican City, 1 June: Turkey's European Union (EU) chief negotiator met on Tuesday [1 June] secretary for relations with states of the Vatican.

Turkish State Minister and EU Chief Negotiator Egemen Bagis stopped by Vatican, within the scope of his two-day formal visit to Italy, and met Dominique Francois Joseph Mamberti, secretary for relations with states of the Vatican.

During the meeting, Bagis said Muslim countries were carefully monitoring Turkey's EU membership process.
