Kanchan Siddiqui BURDWAN, 30 MAY: The civic elections in Burdwan, where six municipalities went to polls today, were by and large peaceful except for some stray violence in Jamuria. Dainhat recorded the highest 91 per cent polling and trouble-affected Jamuria recorded 72 per cent polling. The polling process was severely affected due to malfunctioning of electronic voting machines (EVM) in a number of booths across the six municipal areas from an hour to two in at least eight booths in the district.
