ORGANISERS of the revival of a medieval tradition in the region have hailed the three-day event a big success.

The Durham Mysteries featured ten short productions based on Bible stories and included opera, break-dancing, drama and comedy.

It was held in the city from Thursday to Saturday and attracted about 3,000 people.

Event organiser Kate James said: "It was a very ambitious project, but it has been an absolute triumph.
