Kampala mayor Nasser Sebaggala has crossed to the Liberal Democratic Transparency (LDT) Party, where he was elected president and flag-bearer in next year's elections.

Sebaggala was elected unopposed after two nominees, Frank Sekayemba and Abdu Noor Kiggundu, stood down in his favour, during a delegates meeting at the Imperial Royale Hotel in Kampala on Saturday.

The leaders were sworn in by Rtd. Bishop Cyprian Bamwoze. Sebaggala becomes the second LDT president after Hood Ssempebwa.

Sebaggala resolved to join LDT following a failure to register his own party, the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP).
