RESPECT is something which is very important in all aspects of life, especially in sports where an athlete is always expected to bow to the knowledge and wisdom of his coach.

It is a bit more complex in the Malaysian context though where office bearers also expect athletes to show them respect, and in some sports, disciplinary action is quick to follow if this "rule" is not adhered to.

Badminton, though, seems to be suffering from a lack of respect, at least as far as the coaches are concerned and this was brought to the BA of Malaysia's attention in the aftermath of the Thomas Cup failure.
