Konduz, 31 May: Contradictory claims have been made about a clash in Badakhshan Province [in northern Afghanistan]. The Taleban and the government have been making claims about casualties on each other in the clash in Baharak District of Badakhshan Province.

The deputy governor of Badakhshan Province, Shamsorrahman Shams, told Afghan Islamic Press [AIP] that a clash took place between the Taleban, police and intelligence forces in Brader area of Baharak District yesterday, 30 May, and three Taleban were killed as a result.
