PURSUING a degree while working may prove strenuous to some but for Zamrudah Mohd Ismail, it was a worthwhile effort. When she enrolled for a degree programme two years ago, she knew very well the consequences that she had to face as a working mother.

She was determined to get her degree, knowing full well that it would not be an easy task.

At the time, she was a head nurse at the obstetrics and gynaecology department of Pusat Perubatan Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (PPUKM).
