Private equity hits the buffers--or does it?(From the Editor)

I am still closely following the fate of private equity funding through the recession, as I remain convinced that this sector, perhaps more than any other, requires the skills and experience of business information researchers. So imagine my dismay (and surprise) when I came across the following paragraph in a Financial Times (FT) article about Guy Hands, one of the most colourful of private equity entrepreneurs, and his deepening problems with his leveraged buyout acquisition of EMI in 2007:
