Magazine printer Stephens & George has installed a third Heidelberg Speedmaster XL 105 to complete an pounds 8m investment programme.

The 10-colour long perfector joins another 10-colour and an eight-colour XL 105 at the 240-staff, Merthyr Tydfil-based business.

The latest addition to the company's XL 105 battery, which was installed on 1 April, is expected to produce around 60m impressions per year.

Managing director Andrew Jones said the recent investments would enable the company to achieve 'higher productivity and faster makereadies', meaning it could better compete in a 'tough marketplace'.
