from BUSINESS LINE, May 13, 2010 New Delhi, May 12 - Honda Motorcycles and Scooters India Ltd (HMSI) said on Wednesday that by the next fiscal it expects its motorcycle sales to surpass scooters.
With sales of 7.4 lakh units in 2009-10, scooters accounted for 60 per cent of the company's total 12 lakh two-wheeler sales. HMSI is also the leader in the scooter market with a 51 per cent share.
However, the fourth largest two-wheeler maker in the country expects the scooter share to come down to 50 per cent of the 15 lakh units it expects to sell in the current fiscal.
