The widespread adoption of genetically modified (GM) crops has had numerous benefits on farm yield and environmental impact, but growing resistance by weeds to glyphosate, the most commonly applied herbicide used in conjunction with GM crops, could undermine those economic and environmental benefits, according to a recent report by the National Academy of Sciences (NAS; Washington).
