BEIRUT: A recent visit to the Lebanon-Syria border by a US anti-terrorism team was part of American attempts to turn Lebanon into a "banana republic," Hezbollah MP Nawwaf Moussawi said Thursday.
The delegation from the US State Department's of Antiterrorism Assistance (ATA) programme visited the Masnaa border crossing in the Bekaa earlier this week, AFP reported a US embassy official as saying.
