AN OFFICIAL OF THE COMmission on Elections (Comelec) yesterday said the discovery of supposed election results in the City of Manila was not a threat to the forthcoming polls since the documents were fake.

Comelec spokesperson James Jimenez said they conducted a check of the alleged election returns presented by Manila mayoral candidate Lito Atienza in a press conference the other day and found out that these were just computer printouts.

The documents, he added, did not bear any of the security features present in authentic election returns.
