Jacobs, the company's founder and artistic director, stepped in just days before Saturday's opening to replace another actress, and he does a fine job in a play that starts off like comedic house afire before it rushes through all the important issues that have been eating away at four generations of women gathered to celebrate their matriarch's 90th birthday.

Jacobs plays Lola, the oldest woman's daughter, a sassy and catty woman who is always looking for a good time. Her mother, MaDear (played by Tammy Elaine), is losing her memory, but has a resolute spirit that is insipiring.
