MALAYSIA suffered early blows in the boys' singles as Tew Gee Chong and Nur Azryn Ayub were shown the exit in the preliminary rounds but Low Wei Sheng and Zulfadli Zulkifli advanced to the third round of the World Junior Championships in Guadalajara, Mexico on Wednesday.

Second-seeded Wei Sheng, after receiving a first-round bye, beat Dennis Coke of Jamaica 21-10, 21-11.

Zulfadli, the joint third seed, also received a bye in his opening match and did well to beat China's Liu He 21-17, 21-12.

Gee Chong struggled against Sergiy Shatenko of Canada before winning 22-20, 16-21, 21-18 in his first round match but was then packed …
