CHIEF Minister Datuk Seri Musa Aman took on a combative stance when the government was questioned on its forest protection policy here yesterday.

Musa defended the strict measures taken by the Forestry Department against people who encroached into protected forests, try getting ownership of the land and selling it.

"Check your facts before you question us. Did you know they were trying to sell the land before we stepped in?" he asked in response to Jimmy Wong (DAP-Sri Tanjung) who seek to clarify why the government acted against people living in forest reserves.
