The Joint Admissions Board will tomorrow sit to admit 3,000 students to university on government sponsorship. The board will also set the cut-off points for the next academic year, which opens in August.The Makerere University Academic Registrar, Mr Alfred Namoah, told Daily Monitor last week that he is not sure whether the cut-off points will be raised or lowered.

"The cut-off points for this year will depend on the performance. If the performance was high, then the cut off points will be raised and if the performance was low, then the cut-off points will be lowered in some programmes," Mr Namoah said. There was an …
