Section: Business News - Payungsak Chartsuthipol, the newly elected chairman of the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI), wants to rebuild unity within the country's largest industrial trade group by seeking new members in provincial areas, the Bangkok Post reports.

Mr Payungsak succeeded honorary chairman Santi Vilassakdanont on April 18 with all 288 votes of the selection committee.

He pledged unity after the election turned ugly when candidates Adisak Rohitasune and Suraporn Simakulthorn asked for an investigation into the election's alleged lack of transparency.
