A three-member Supreme Court bench on Wednesday granted bail to Jamil Abbasi, a facilitator who allegedly arranged the prohibited bore arms licences to a local private security agency-InterRisk, for non-availability of sufficient evidence against him.

The bench comprising Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry, Justice Chaudhry Ijaz Ahmed and Justice Ghulam Rabbani while granting bail observed that there was no justification of keeping Jamil Abbasi in the custody in absence of concrete evidence against him.

The court directed the appellant to furnish two surety bonds of Rs 500,000 each, before the district and sessions judge …
