Police yesterday said they have began investigating claims that Uganda People's Congress leader Olara Otunnu, accused President Museveni of aiding the war in northern Uganda.

Deputy Director of Criminal Investigations Department Moses Sakira told Daily Monitor yesterday that they opened inquiries into his utterances. While addressing UPC delegates from Lango sub region at Uganda Technical College Lira on Monday Mr Otunnu reportedly accused Mr Museveni of having sustained the war in northern Uganda for over 20 years through funding the Lord's Resistance Army rebels led by Joseph Kony.
