FRESH from its rebranding and restructuring exercise, Wah Seong Corporation Bhd primes itself for recognition as a global integrated energy player.

IN 1994, WHEN THE WAH SEONG story began, its focus was entirely local.

Now, local businesses account for less than 20% of its revenue.

From a small industrial operation in 1994 to a mid-sized oil and gas (O&G) group when it was listed in 2002, Wah Seong Corporation Bhd (WSC) is today an international O&G services player. Through internal growth and aggressive merger and acquisition (M&A) activities, it has grown from a modest four-brand entity to a group comprising 25 distinct brands operating in 14 countries globally.

Its focus now is to establish itself as a globally recognised integrated energy infrastructure group.

Realising that having a strong recognisable brand is imperative to its goal, WSC recently consolidated its 25 subsidiaries with largely dissimilar brands into a single main brandname - Wasco; and placed them under six distinct divisions - pipe-coating, pipe-manufacturing, engineering, renewable energy, trading, and exploration and production (E&P) services.
