Optimum Coal's JSE listing 'to aid growth' Black-owned group's first trade is at R31,85 a share EDWARD WEST OPTIMUM Coal, a black-owned and controlled coal mining and exploration group, listed in the general mining sector on the JSE main board yesterday morning, opening with its first trade at R31,85 a share. CEO Mike Teke said the listing would bring a thermal coal pure-play to market, while strengthening Optimum's development abilities and further enabling it to pursue its growth strategy. Our vision is to become the benchmark South African-owned and controlled coal mining and exploration group, he said.
