UP to 30 North East Lincolnshire Council jobs could be lost as a result of the multi-million-pound partnership between the council and Balfour Beatty.

As reported, the historic deal agreed last week will mean highways and technical services, regeneration and property services will be run by the firm.

Council leaders approved the GBP25-million deal with Balfour Beatty in a closed council meeting.

A total of 317 staff are due to transfer over to the new employer within a few weeks.

However, today the Grimsby Telegraph can reveal the firm had drawn up plans to axe 30 council staff before they even signed …
