Section: General News - Thailand is ready to host the first Mekong River Commission Summit (MRC Summit) in Hua Hin district, Prachuap Khiri Khan Province from 2 to 5 April with maximum security prepared for all participants.

Mr Kasemsan Jinnawaso, Director General of the Department of Water Resources (DWR) said the summit has been initiated to mark the 15th anniversary of the Mekong River Commission and to provide a stage for the four member countries, namely Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam and Thailand, to tackle the drought problem ravaging most of the region.
