A man was yesterday shot and seriously injured after he allegedly attempted to disarm a police officer in a security crackdown in Nakulabye, a Kampala suburb.

The victim Abdu Semakula, who was shot in the leg, has been admitted to Mulago Hospital but is under special watch by security agents, while the Special Police Constable is being held at Wandegeya Police Station.

The crackdown which started a day after the Kasubi tombs got burnt last Tuesday intensified on Monday after Buganda started a week-long mourning in respect of the historical site. Nakulabye is a neighbouring suburb to Kasubi tombs and security agents are carrying out …
