from THE JAKARTA POST -- WEDNESDAY, MARCH 24, 2010 Indonesia has strongly condemned Israel's decision to construct new settlements in Bethlehem and East Jerusalem, and has also raised concerns about deteriorating human rights conditions in the Gaza Strip.
Speaking at the 13th UN Human Rights Commission meeting in Geneva on Monday, Indonesian head of delegation Dian Triansyah Djani said the settlement expansion policy constituted a blatant violation of existing international law and many other UN Security Council and General Assembly resolutions, and would only inflame an already tense situation.
