Denise Lee's mother-in-law gets just seconds to address Florida Legislature

It took Peggy Lee six hours to drive from her home to Englewood to testify before the Florida Legislature about the need to provide more money to 911 systems.

But Lee -- the mother-in-law of murder victim Denise Lee -- learned in a matter of minutes how things really work in Tallahassee.

Lee had to wait until the end of a nearly three-hour meeting before she was allowed roughly a minute to plead to lawmakers to pass a bill that would require retailers to collect a 911 charge every time they sell someone prepaid calling cards …
