Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani on Monday announced various initiatives for the empowerment of women and directed the federal and provincial governments to ensure implementation in letter and spirit of 10 percent jobs quota reserved for women through CSS.

Addressing a function organised to mark the International Women Day, the Prime Minister also announced setting up of the office of women Ombudsman, adding that he would also like to see the National Commission on Status of Women (NCSW) with total administrative and financial autonomy.
