KOLKATA, 15 DEC: The state consumer affairs department is going to start a ful-fledged academic course on consumer education from from January 2010.
The department has set up National Institute of Consumer Education at Chinsurah in Hooghly. The total number of seats would be around 150. The members of various NGOs working in the field and state government officials of the consumer affairs department would be taught the different aspects of consumer protection and consumer affairs. There would be hostel facilities as well for the students.
