ST JOHNSTONE defender Stuart McCaffrey is hoping a novel treatment used on Manchester United's Owen Hargreaves will finally end his injury torment - sugar.

McCaffrey developed a groin problem in October and when painkilling injections wore off in effectiveness, a double hernia operation was required.
