Swazi Press Taunts MTN's Besiimire.

It should be a proud moment for the Ugandan telecommunication industry, but the appointment of Philip Besiimire, a Ugandan, as acting CEO of Swazi MTN, has instead sparked off a public and media outcry in Swaziland.

Besiimire, formerly the chief marketing officer of Swazi MTN, was appointed acting CEO on January 16.

Snoops say the Swazi labour organisation argued that if foreigners came to impart skills, there should be a process for locals to take over.

National papers, Swazi Times and Observer were full of stories questioning the decision to appoint Besiimire.
