The Metropolitan Police will station officers at the Supreme Court building and key locations for another week, even though the Thaksin assets trial ended on Friday.

Bangkok police chief Lt-General Santhan Chayanont said yesterday that no violence was anticipated, but police were taking precautions against any attempts to cause chaos by a third party or ill-intentioned figures.

He praised the joint police-Army team for maintaining the peace.
