DELAY PROMPTS THAI to lease aircraft

The board of Thai Airways International has approved the short-term lease of three aircraft to cope with increasing demand from Europe and Japan, airline chairman Ampon Kittiampon said yesterday.
THAI will lease three aircraft within the next six months for three years. The airline needs to lease the additional aircraft to make up for a further six-month delay in the delivery of five A330-300 aircraft.
