MALAYSIA Airports Holdings Bhd (MAHB) plans to raise between RM2 billion and RM2.5 billion by the first half of the year, mainly to fund the development of the new low-cost carrier terminal (LCCT) in Sepang.
"A rights issue is unlikely, as it will see Khazanah Nasional Bhd increasing its share in the company, which goes against recent calls for it to reduce its stake in government-linked companies. However as the ultimate aim is to raise cash, we are looking at all options at this point of time," the airport operator's chief financial officer Faizal Mansor said on ways to raise the money.
