Philippines: MMDA works double time in Yuletide season.

Section: General News - Traffic enforcers of the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) will work extra hours this Christmas season to ensure the smooth flow of traffic in major roads and commercial districts of Metro Manila.

Under the agency's holiday traffic scheme, traffic enforcers will work in shifts until 12 midnight or - if the need arises - until 2 a.m. everyday to direct traffic and assist motorists and commuters.

Members of the MMDA's traffic support units such as Rescue and Road Emergency Group will also have personnel and equipment on 24-hour alert to be able to respond to any type of road emergencies.
