from ANTARA, The Indonesian National News Agency Ambon, Feb. 24 (ANTARA) - Two consecutive tectonic earthquakes jolted Maluku province on Wednesday, local Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics (BMKG) spokesman Benny Sipolo said here after the quakes.
The first quake measuring 4.5 on the Richter scale jolted Buru Selatan district in Central Maluku at 8.58 local time on Wednesday morning, and the second one measuring 5.1 on the Richter scale rocked Tual in Southeast Maluku at 9.33 a.m. local time.
