The Energy Saving Trust has compiled statistics showing the worst offenders and how thinking about your appliances, switching things off, and the type of technology you buy can have a big impact.

Ever wondered how much energy your TV, PlayStation or satellite was using? Here are some of average rates for typical home appliances. TV in main room - 32" LCD, bought in 2006, on for five hours a day, cost pounds 35 a year and about 140kg of carbon emissions.
