MITO--The Ibaraki prefectural government and cities located around Ibaraki Airport are desperate to attract tourists from South Korea, with the airport set to begin operations on March 11 despite services between the airport and Seoul being the only regular flight to and from the new facility.

The airport will mark its opening with no domestic flights. Skymark Airlines has agreed to begin flights from Kobe Airport in April, but the prospects for the airport remain bleak as Japan Airlines …
