Effects of Islamic Revolution on Iran's economy.

The victory of Islamic revolution in Iran is a milestone not only in the history of this country but also in that of other nations in the world. This revolution totally changed the global standards in the fields of politics and economy.

It played an important role in disintegration of the two contemporary superpowers. Iranians brought down the powerful regime of the Shah of Iran who was given the title of American policeman in the Middle East. The regime was actually walking on American crutches and reins of the government were mainly in the hands of thousands of American advisors.

Imam Khomeini's movement broke the talisman of invincibility of America while foundations of the superpower of the eastern bloc, the Soviet Union, increasingly weakened after the Islamic revolution, so much so that in 1989 the Founder of the Revolution Imam Khomeini, in his letter to the last Soviet ruler Gorbachev, predicting the fall of the communism, said: "Sound of breaking of bones of the communism is reaching ears. Now communism could be found only in political museums of the world". Inviting Gorbachev to Islam, Imam Khomeini in this letter said, "After getting rid of communism, come in the lap of Islam:" Terming the west as a mirage and a delusion, he had said that the fate of the capitalist system of the west would be worse than that of communism.
