SRA says sugar prices start stabilizing.

LOCAL SUGAR PRICES ARE NOT SEEN going higher than P54 per kilo as a more stable price condition is setting in, according to the top official of the Sugar Regulatory Administration (SRA).

Were hoping the retail price will still be at P54. It seems speculation has died down and increases in the millgate prices have slowed, SRA Administrator Rafael Coscolluela said.

He said that, last week, millgate prices surged by P100 per bag but the increase was now only about P15 to P30 per bag.
